OTTAWA — A by-the-numbers look at the Syrian refugee crisis and Canada's effort to resettle some 25,000 of them before the end of February.

4,393,831: Number of Syrians the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees has registered as refugees from the Syrian war.

2,291,900: Registered refugees living in Turkey.

1,070,189: Registered refugees living in Lebanon.

632,762: Registered refugees in Jordan.

25,000: Refugees the Liberal government has committed to bringing to Canada by the end of February 2016.

11,300: Refugees the previous Conservative government committed to accepting, initially by the end of 2018.

3,089: Refugees who arrived in Canada between Jan. 1, 2014, and Nov. 3, 2015.

464: Refugees have arrived in Canada since Nov. 4, 2015.
