The Liberal government has been fielding a lot of complaints about controversial proposed tax reforms — and now the premiers are taking a turn as they gather in Ottawa to meet Justin Trudeau.

A renowned American museum and an Inuit government have received an award for returning Inuit bodies that had been dug up and taken for scientific study.

Canada’s premiers met with a reduced group of Indigenous leaders Monday after three national bodies — including the Assembly of First Nations — boycotted the event.

"It doesn't make any sense for the first ministers to consider solutions and decide on solutions on our behalf without us in the room," Inuit Tapiriit Kanatami's president said.
