British Columbia intends to electrify its fledgling LNG industry to help its competitiveness, but a new poll released suggests that plan may be on thin ice with the public.

A First Nations leader is calling on the British Columbia government to release several reports on the Site C dam, claiming details of escalating costs and safety concerns have been "shrouded in secrecy."
The decision by the provincial utility comes as a prominent First Nations leader said Friday that she still has concerns about work camps for resource projects continuing to operate during the COVID-19 pandemic.
The Site C dam construction is just one kilometre away from an unpredictable landslide that has forced about 200 residents from their homes in Northern B.C., near the Peace River.
If the vote resulted in a snap election, it's quite likely that the B.C. Liberals would have gotten back into power, and the project would have gone ahead anyway.
