About Dan Oldfield
Dan Oldfield is the President of the CBC Pensioners National Association, an organization representing 6000 CBC retirees across Canada. He is a former CBC political reporter and Senior Staff Representative for the Canadian Media Guild, the union representing English language employees at the CBC. As a union leader, he led multiple rounds of collective bargaining at CBC, Canadian Press, Thomson-Reuters, Aboriginal Peoples Television Network, TVO and TFO and spent his days engaged in problem-solving and crisis management. Dan came to embrace a model of relationship-building with management based on discussion and respect rather than conflict and heat.
