Speaking in front of 18,000 people at the American Israel Public Affairs Committee, U.S. Presidential candidate Hillary Clinton had some harsh words for her Republican opponent Donald Trump. "We need steady hands, not a president that says he's neutral on Mondays, pro-Israel on Tuesday, and who-knows-what on Wednesday because 'everything is negotiable'” she said.
Clinton rejected the possibility of a head of state whose foreign policy strategy consists on -what she called- insulting allies and emboldening enemies. "For the security of Israel and the world, we need America to remain a respected global leader, committed to defending and advancing the international order; an America able to block efforts to isolate or attack Israel; the alternative is unthinkable."
But despite her vigorous speech, her ironies and promises "to take the U.S.-Israel alliance to the next level," many people on social media didn't applaud her attempts to win over the nation’s most influential pro-Israel lobbying group.
Some criticized her for maintaining the state of affairs established by the Obama administration, while showing "sympathy to the concerns of Israel's right-wing leadership and of pro-Israel groups."
