Joanna Chiu is an independent journalist, recently back in B.C. after 8 years abroad working as a foreign correspondent based in Beijing and Hong Kong. She now splits her time between the Okanagan and Vancouver. She has reported for The Economist, Agence-France-Presse, The Guardian, South China Morning Post and Foreign Policy, among many other publications.
