Tim Lam

Tim Lam is the Director of Audience and Subscriptions at Canada's National Observer. He is a purpose-driven digital marketing leader who has spent his career building audiences and growing revenue in the media and tech world, based in Vancouver, BC.
At the heart of his work lies a deep love for journalism and a belief that stories can transform the world. It has driven his winding career as the previous senior manager of audience strategy at Indiegraf, a platform dedicated to growing news startups, and previous editor-in-chief at Cold Tea Collective, an online media outlet serving the young Asian diaspora in North America. He has also led the digital marketing program at PressReader, a global newspaper and magazine app.
Tim is passionate about social change at the intersection of community building, journalism, civic engagement, and belonging. He is a proud former Simon Fraser University RADIUS fellow and serves as a CityHive youth advisor, a Vancouver Global Shaper, and editorial lead on the board of Chinatown Today.
