You don’t need to travel to the depths of the Serengheti to experience an otherworldly adventure. You can support climate reporting at Canada's National Observer and receive this incredible gift, knowing you are helping us give the natural world a voice. For 37 years Bluewater Adventures has been making their guests’ wildest, West Coast dreams come true. And now, during our winter fundraising campaign, you have the opportunity to donate and join one of their most wildlife-focused expeditions: the 7-day "Whales, Totems & Grizzlies" adventure tour. There is so much to enjoy and experience on this trip.

Fly into Port McNeill or take the ferry to Nanaimo or Victoria and venture up the coast to Northern Vancouver Island where you’ll board the Island Odyssey, a luxurious private yacht, and depart into a spectacular maze of islands, rich with wildlife, breathtaking scenery, and the history and traditions of the Kwakwaka’wakw people.

Guests can look forward to witnessing northern resident orcas, humpback whales, sea lions, a prolific range of sea birds, Pacific white-sided dolphins and all of B.C.’s iconic marine life. When the boat travels close to the shoreline, guests have the option to board a zodiac for a closer look at coastal wolves and grizzly bears, majestic moms and cubs at Glendale Cove or Knight Inlet, British Columbia’s premier wildlife viewing sites.

When the wind picks up, the boat’s sails are raised and you can take a turn at the rudder...

No two Bluewater trips are the same, each expedition is customized to meet guests' individual preferences and needs. The small tour size of 12 people (max.) allows for an intimate voyage. Guests are joined by a captain, a mate, a private chef and an on-board naturalist or conservationist who guides the wildlife experience of the journey.

These trips sell out fast so donate now to secure your two spots! A $11,000 donation promises you and a guest the adventure of a lifetime!
