The British Columbia government goes up against dozens of health care and pharmaceutical companies in court today in a bid to get certification for a class-action lawsuit over the costs of the opioid crisis.

Conservative Leader Pierre Poilievre said on Tuesday that if he became prime minister, he would sue pharmaceutical companies as a way to fund drug treatment ⁠ — but he wouldn't say what he would do about sites where users can consume drugs under supervision.
