Finance Minister Chrystia Freeland has ruled out raising taxes on the middle class in the upcoming federal budget — but won't say if corporations or the wealthy are in for the same treatment.

Jennifer Howard, Singh's chief of staff, says the party will also discuss their confidence-and-supply agreement with the minority Liberal government.

"That's off the table," NDP leader Jagmeet Singh said in a year-end interview with The Canadian Press, even though the two parties have been working closely together.
