Evelyn Austin is an artist, writer, fossil fuel divestment organizer, and settler living and working in Tkaronto. Her research-based art and writing practices explore the politics of extractivism and problems of infinite economic growth. She is a student at the University of Toronto graduating in 2021 with a Bachelors of Science in Mathematics, and minors in Visual Art and English. Currently, she is a coordinator for the Divest Canada Coalition, a member of Divest Ed and the College Climate Coalition’s National Reinvestment Working Group, and a project lead on the newly launched Banking on a Better Future campaign.
