Canada’s National Observer is thrilled to announce that Supriya Dwivedi is joining us as a regular columnist. Her first column debuts today.

Supriya has over a decade of experience in media, spanning broadcast, digital and print. Most recently, she was the host of The Morning Show on Global News Radio in Toronto and wrote a column for Global News.

She continues to be a sought-after media commentator who appears weekly on CBC’s Power & Politics and is a contributing political columnist for the Toronto Star.

Supriya plans to write about the intersection of climate change and politics, focusing primarily on Ontario.

“For far too long, political reporting and commentary have treated climate change as though it were just another topic for political fodder and score-keeping instead of the very real crisis that it is,” she says.

“The National Observer is one of the only outlets in this country that sees the climate crisis for what it is and has dedicated the resources to providing top-notch climate reporting and analysis. I'm very excited to be joining such a stellar team.”

Supriya grew up in Quebec’s Eastern Townships before moving to Montreal as a teenager with her family. She holds a bachelor of science from McGill University as well as civil law and common law degrees from the Université de Montréal.

She is fluent in English and French and speaks Hindi.
